Challenge wrap-up: Amazing Authors

We're nearing the end of 2011 and it's time for me to do my challenge wrap-up posts. I am proud to say that I've finished every challenge that I signed up for this year! I get right on my challenges as January rolls around, plotting out when, but not necessarily what, to read for each challenge so that I don't forget about them. A little organized, yes, but it works for me.

The idea behind the Amazing Authors Challenge is that we are to read at least six to ten books that were recommended to us by friends, family, and other bloggers. Here's my list:

  1. Little Bee by Chris Cleave (Adult)
  2. Shooting Kabul by N.H. Senzai (YA)
  3. Shine by Lauren Myracle (YA)
  4. Buried Onions by Gary Soto (YA)
  5. Fist Sick Knife Gun by Geoffrey Canada (YA, graphic novel)
  6. Fasting, Feasting by Anita Desai (Adult)
  7. Radio Shangri-La by Lisa Napoli (Adult non-fiction)
  8. Born Under a Million Shadows by Andrea Busfield (Adult)--one of my favorites
  9. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot (Adult, non-fiction)
  10. The Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda (Adult)--one of my favorites
  11. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (YA)--one of my favorites
  12. Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts (Adult)
  13. The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg (YA)
  14. Stay by Allie Larkin (Adult)
