About Me

So you want to know about me....

I live in southern California and appreciate that fact every single day! I love the weather, the lifestyle, that we're close to the beach (it's a 10 minute walk from my house), and pretty much everything about it. However, I really love to travel and have been to almost all the continents; I try to take 2 trips a year and am usually looking for somewhere new and different to go. We like to go to cities where we can explore, go to museums, shop, and enjoy the hustle and bustle, but sometimes go off the beaten path for a change.

I am a single mom with an 16-year-old daughter. We share a house with my parents and all feel very lucky to live in a multi-generational household. In addition to traveling, we both love to read and dance (she is MUCH better than me) while I am also into photography. This fall, my daughter has gone off to boarding school so the house seems very quiet and I am reading much more!

I taught high school World History and American Government for 14 years before becoming the Teacher Librarian at the same high school in August 2008. In 2013 I became a Technology Integration Coach in my school district. I just started a new job in 2016 as my district's Social Studies Coach so I'll be working with all of our social studies teachers on curriculum and technology.
