It's Monday! What are you reading?

This meme is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey

Books read last week:
  • The Life You've Imagined by Kristina Riggle (review to be posted Sept 2 for a book tour)
  • Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Books currently reading:
  • Caliph's House: A Year in Casablanca by Tahir Shah (Middle East Reading Challenge)
Books waiting in the wings:
  • My brother's book (waiting for my mom to finish it so I can...it's still in draft form)
  • Broken Bird: The Story of My Momila by Jeannette Katzir
Help: I need a recommendation for the Social Justice Challenge! This month's topic is Modern Day Slavery. I've already read Sold and The Blue Notebook. If it's YA that makes it even better. Any suggestions?

The only one I can think of is Sold, but you've already read that...

The books that are coming to my mind are not exactly slavery, but similar themes, like The Help, Wench. I'll think about this for a while, and let you know of a book if one comes to my mind.

Thanks for the reminder on the Social Justice Challenge. Did they have any book recommendations there, they usually have a few ideas. I have SOLD ready to be read and this just gave me the push I needed to get started.

Thanks Helen!

I really enjoyed Sold. What did you think? No suggestions at the moment.

Amanda, Sheila, Susan--Sold is such an obvious one since it is SO good! I've also read A Long Way Home. Maybe I'll try What is the What...

Aths--I think for this one I need modern slavery (trafficking, soldiers, etc). I'll go check out the Social Justice Challenge site like Sheila suggested
