My Best books of the 2010s

I have been reading a bunch of blog posts about people's best books of the decade and I got inspired, so thank you! This was not an easy task by any means. I thought about doing it by year, but that was far too difficult for me.

I absolutley loved the process of looking back over my 5 star reviews and remembering, with a smile on my face, all the amazing books I've read over the past 10 years. I could easily have made this a list of 20 or 30 top books. But, a top 10 is so much more satisfying.
So, without further ado, here are my top ten books from 2010 to 2019 in no particular order.

Shanghai Girls by Lisa See (adult fiction)
Note: anything by Lisa See is usually a huge hit with me

The Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda (adult fiction)

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys (YA historical fiction)
Note: I've loved all her books so far

When She Woke by Hilary Jordan (adult dystopian)

Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown

Just Mercy by Bryan Stephenson (adult nonfiction)

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman (adult fiction)

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (adult historical fiction)
Note: as with Lisa See and Ruta Sepetys, I've enjoyed all Kristin Hannah's books that I've read

Being Mortal by Atul Gawande (adult nonfiction)

The Language of Threads by Gail Tsukiyama
Note: another author where I have enjoyed every one of her books
