Saturday Snapshot--December 4, 2010

This meme is hosted by Alyce from At Home With Books

To participate in Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online.

This Saturday my photograph is a photo of Ashia, a Ugandan girl whose education my daughter and I sponsor through Givology. A friend of a friend went to Uganda last month and took presents to Ashia for us. I was so excited that someone from my home was going to meet Ashia and be able to deliver something that she wanted: a dress.

J.L., Food for thought, Alyce, Trish--Givology has a great system where you choose the project or person you want to sponsor. There is some back and forth so that you get feedback, thank yous, can send notes, etc. I really like the personal aspect of it!

Beautiful. Sometimes we forget that something little to us means a lot to someone else.

Leslie--Well said. We also sent paper, pens and pencils for the teachers at her school. A few minutes at Staples for me meant a lot to them

Karla--That's how I feel too!

Bev--I really hope to meet Ashia one day. I know that doing this is good for my daughter as well. She enjoyed trying the clothes on to see if she thought Ashia would like them
