Sunday Salon: October 10, 2021

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

And we got rain! It never rains in October. Not only did we get rain, but thunder and lightening that went on for a couple hours so it was all very exciting for us here in southern California. The rain made me realize that I don't have a raincoat that isn't falling apart so I hit REI Friday after work and got a new raincoat. Bring on winter!

I got my flu shot last week so am feeling pretty good. Now I just need to decide when I am going to get my Pfizer booster.

This morning I went to a car show at our local polo fields that are nestled up in the foothills. I am not a huge car person, but I do appreciate a well looked after classic car and a beautiful setting made it that much better. The top car is a racing Ferrari owned by my neighbor so that was my initial draw to the event.

This year I am really excited about the choice for the Nobel Prize in Literature (see my post here to find out why). The amazing thing is that I bought By the Sea (one of his novels) a couple weeks ago off Amazon for $15. I looked yesterday and it was over $900 for a paperback!

I nominated books for the CYBILS and want to encourage you to do so as well. There are many categories in which you can nominate.Take a minute to check out the Nominating rules. The big one: the book needs to be published in the U.S. or Canada between October 16, 2020 and October 15, 2021. Oh, and ONE book per CATEGORY per PERSON. No exceptions. The form will kick you back if you try to nominate more than one book (or if someone else has already nominated the book). If you want to nominate or to see which books have already been nominated, use this link.

Here's my challenge update. The image is a link to my challenge page.
