Nonfiction November 2021: Week 1

Week 1: (November 1-5) – Your Year in Nonfiction with Rennie at What’s Nonfiction: Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions:

What was your favorite nonfiction read of the year?
Sadly, I have not read much nonfiction this year having only read 11 nonfiction titles (I am hoping this month gives my nonfiction reading a big boost). However, of the nonfiction I've read so far this year, my favorites would have to be the graphic novel Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio by Derf Backderf and The Girl With Seven Names by Hyeonseo Lee.

Do you have a particular topic you’ve been attracted to more this year?
I don't seem to have been consistent at all in my nonfiction topics this year. I've read everything from mental health to immigration to sports stories to Native Americans to slavery.

What nonfiction book have you recommended the most?
This year I haven't recommended much nonfiction since I have read very many. However, in the past, I've recommended Boys in the Boat and Being Mortal to tons of people.

What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November?
I do enjoy reading nonfiction, but this year for some reason I have read a ton of it. So, my hope for Nonfiction November is to read good narrative nonfiction. I have actually chosen 4 books to read this month:
