Sunday Salon: December 13, 2020

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz runs The Sunday Salon.

What I've been reading:

What it's like outside:
It's windy today! But, still sunny and beautiful. I should just copy-paste this paragraph each week as it doesn't really change, which is a shame, since we need rain.

What I've been watching:
We finished the newest season of the Crown. While it was interesting to see how events that I remember were portrayed (and I didn't realize quite how miserable both Charles and Diana were), it isn't my favorite season.

My daughter also convinced me to watch another K-drama, this one is a totally goofy rom-com called Boys over Flowers and it's really fun. I think they know they are making fun of themselves.

I am searching for something to watch on the treadmill, so if you have any suggestions, I am open to them. It needs to be something that will distract me from the workout.

What going on in my life:
This coming week are low-tides at our beaches so I am looking forward to a week of late afternoon beach walks. My goal is to get some nice photos of me and my daughter for our New Year card.

We have one more week of work until Winter Break and we are getting our Christmas tree today (yes, we're a bit late this year) and some more shopping done. With the California lockdown, our shops are only allowed to have 20% capacity so sometimes we have to wait outside for quite a bit to get in. But, that's much better than continuing the escalating COVID numbers so I don't mind. Yesterday I went to our beloved indie bookshop and bought a bunch of presents.

Bookish thoughts this week:
I am participating in both the #TBTBSanta holiday card exchange and the secret Santa. I have received 3 of the cards (LOVE getting snail mail!) and my secret Santa present arrived this week. Of course, I opened it. It was a lovely collection of things; my secret Santa did very well by me. The cool thing about it is that she lives in Michigan so included a Christmas tree ornament from Michigan. Little did she know, I was born in Michigan so I am excited to include it on my tree from here on out!
