Harry Potter meme

I thought I would participate in Tif Talks Book's Harry Potter meme in honor of the last movie being released. I saw this meme on Rebeccas's blog, Lost in Books

When and Where (when you first discovered the series)
: I heard about this book from my brother, I think. And, he is really into fantasy/sci-fi books, which I was not so I must confess that I wasn't so sure at first. But, I read the first one and was hooked immediately. Then my dad read it and we were amazed that we all liked it equally and knew Rowling had hit on something HUGE. Ever since then I've ordered the books ahead of time so that they were on my doorstep day one for me to read.

Favorite Character: I've got a soft spot for Neville Longbottom and I like that he is always there, supporting the main three and he really is strong and comes through when they need him. And, of course, Hermione. Who wouldn't like an intelligent, strong girl who loves a library and books?!

Most Hated Character: Dolores Umbridge has got to get my vote on this one. She is so horrible and fantastic! How does Rowling come up with all the details that make these characters so wonderful!

Favorite BookI don't know that I really have a favorite, but I think I'll pick the first one since I went into it so blind and came out a fan.

Favorite Movie: The Prisoner of Azkaban was one of my favorite books in the series so I'll go with it as my favorite movie. I feel like it's the one where the movies really began to pick up steam

Rank the Books (1 = favorite, 7 = least favorite): I just can't do this. It's been so long since I've read some of them. I do remember liking Order of the Phoenix the least when I read it

Most Memorable Scene: Seriously? One scene? Um... it's funny, but I think I'll pick the first time Harry was at King's Cross Station and he met the Weasleys. They showed him how to get through Platform 9 and 3/4. I knew then that the books were going to be magical in more ways than one.

What You Will Miss the Most: Being so excited in anticipation of the next Harry Potter book, the thrill of holding the new book and losing myself in it, and blocking out everything else for a couple days while I devoured the newest installment in the series.

What You Are Looking Forward To (even despite the end): I'd love to go to Florida to the theme park. Oh, and the last movie coming out on DVD so I can watch it again (and again).
