Saturday Snapshot--April 23, 2011

This meme is hosted by Alyce from At Home With Books

To participate in Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online.

And now for something completely different... this is my new iPad. I love it (and didn't think I would).

The book is Russian Winter by Daphne Kalotay
Notice it's got a book on the screen. I bought one so that I could test out reading on the iPad and compare it to reading on my Kindle. It's quite a similar experience, but not as easy on the eyes. Diane from Bibliophile told me she listens to audio books on hers so I might need to look into that!

My husband has an ipad and I love to borrow it from him. It's so much fun!

Nice! I haven't tried one, but I'm heard they are amazing. I love that those Apple people pay such close attention to design details. Their products are beautiful, in a way.

My husband loves reading on his iPad but I prefer my Kindle. I wonder if you can adjust the page background on the iPad like I can on my iPod Touch. I sometimes read on the Touch and found a way to change the background to a light sepia shade which I find is much easier on my eyes. Though, more often than not, I listen to audiobooks on my iTouch.
Have fun with the iPad. I think you'll love it. I want to get a subscription to a cooking magazine and have it only for the iPad. I think that would be very cool :)

Mary--You can change the background on the iPad to Sepia which would probably change the reading experience. I'll have to try that and see how it feels. A magazine subscription is also a good idea, thank you!
