Is this mouse crazy or rabid?

Ok, normally I wouldn't post something like this, but this mouse keeps coming into my patio and running around in circles. It is the strangest thing.

OMG! That's weird! Either it's a toy mouse or it's playing hide-and-seek with itself. It's really spooky!

Aths--definitely not a toy. It freaked me out the first time I saw it this morning and it has reappeared twice more from the bushes. This last session (the one on the video) is the smallest circles so far.

That is so odd. Mousy brain tumor? High on fumes from a gas leak? Really, really bored mouse? :) Or maybe obsessive-compulsive mouse?

Aww. Poor mouse. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem good.

Alyce and Nicole--very sad. When I got home just after 5:00 we saw a neighbor's cat watch and then catch the mouse. At least it's now out of its misery, right?

I think the mouse is in pain. I saw a puppy do this once in the Philippines. But he had just been bopped in the head with a club. Is it possible the mouse fell or someone hit it? I don't think it's chasing its tail. The dog was eventually cured when I took him to a vet who administered meds.

Jacqueline--I hadn't thought of pain as a cause for the mouse's bizarre behavior. I never saw anything happen to the mouse, it just showed up going in these circles. And, as I said above, a cat got to it so I don't have a chance to help it.
