Read-a-Thon: Hour 14 update

It's just about hour 14 and I am going to take a break for dinner so thought I would check in and give an update. Actually, my dad is out of town and my daughter is with her dad so I get to have dinner with just my mom....a rare and nice occurrence.

I have read one complete book: The Eternal Smile by Gene Luen Yang and Derek Kirk Kim

I have read about 200 pages of Joshua Gaylord's Hummingbirds (review to be posted Tuesday as part of the TLC book tour)

I am going to take a break and read Ron Koertge's Shakespeare Bats Cleanup

I have done a few mini-challenges and look forward to doing a few more before bed time.

Hi Helen,

The Title Word Scramble from about an hour ago was kind of fun, and I recommend it. Here's the link (unless you'd rather go to the Readathon page and click there):

Keep having fun! After you enjoy the meal with your mom, I mean.

Bonnie--I thought about doing the title scramble then saw someone else's post so it would be cheating to do the titles after seeing them...

Kiki--I've wondered where you've been! Glad you're back!

I am in the same situation as you, only in reverse, as my stepdaughter is with her mom this weekend and not with us. It just happened to work out that way, which is lucky, as I am sure my reading would be drastically reduced with her here.

I ve been reading all day too, but basically clocked only 6 hours actually with too many breaks. I'll probably keep going for a while more. Keep reading!! Have fun!

The hour grows late
My cheers are lame
Hope you’re still reading
And your eyes aren’t aflame!

Stephanie--hope you get in a lot of reading while you have the house to yourself!

Aths--Hope you don't stay up too late (or maybe that you do, it is a 24 hour read-a-thon after all). Have fun1

Jill--Thanks! I may not last too much longer (and it's only 9:15pm)
