Victorious Wednesday!

Ah, the beauty of a few hours.... I met with the Assistant Principal about Body Drama and the meeting took all of 3 minutes; he didn't even look at the book. He told me what happened, I said I'd put the book back in its proper place on the shelf and he said ok. Nice and neat. Then I emailed all the Health teachers to let them know about the book so they can tell their students if there is someone that they think will benefit from it.

The street painting is going well though today got a little more frustrating with more boys showing up. You know the phrase "too many cooks spoil the broth"? Well, the same goes for artist! The final painting will say "SM Reads" with bubble designs around it.

I forgot to confess in my earlier post that I didn't ask permission to the street painting on my library wall. I don't really need permission. Trust me, I don't ever ask. But, we do have a tagging problem and I know the administration is trying to discourage it. So, I figured it would be easier to let them see it once it was done. Who knew the principal would walk through today and see it. Gulp! But he liked it so that worked out well for me.

Glad the meeting with the Principal went well. Keeping it in the back shelf seems a decent option.

LOL @ the Street painting Principal entry. But good he liked it! :)

Aths--I am not keeping the book on a back shelf, just the shelf where it belongs according to the Dewey Decimal System.

Helen, it sounds as if things went doubly well for you today at school. Congrats! (I'm going to think about getting that book for my daughters.)

I feel better already! This outcome of a "challenge" would still fit nicely on the Banned Books blog, if you are inclined to tell us about it. I especially like that the girl's reason for complaining was the boys were giggling and making comments. The vulnerability aspect makes perfect sense to me.

Suko--definitely check it out for your daughters; there is some pretty graphic stuff in it, but it's about our bodies. :-)

Bonnie--I'll go to the site now and email you
