Well, the house feels a bit quieter since my daughter left on Thursday to return to NY for school. It really was wonderful to have her here for a month; I feel so fortunate. We did lots of talking, walking, hanging out, getting to know the new puppy, seeing my parents, eating at her favorite local places, and more. I'm going to visit her in Ithaca next month, so we'll get to see each other soon. Poppy (the puppy) is doing very well with her potty training and is chewing EVERYTHING. She's such a delight.

I watched two light, fun movies this weekend: Sheep Detectives and The Man Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain. I quite enjoyed both of them. The Hugh Grant one especially worked for me as it is just so Welshy and makes me think of my family!

The NY Times came out with their list of the 50 best thrillers of the 21st century. They had almost 300 authors and critics vote. I hope you can see the list even if you don't have a subscription. Sorry for the spoiler, but the top choice is Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I haven't read it and feel like I've really missed out. Tana French also did well as did many other novels and authors that I've enjoyed.
