Not much to report this week except puppy, puppy, puppy. We are settling in together and figuring out a routine. She chews and chews and chews (note the empty bookshelf, which is now a dog shelf). I am really looking forward to her adult teeth growing in! We take daily outings, and she is so good, calm, great with people of all ages, doesn't get startled by anything, and seems to be fine with the car and stroller rides.

I was sad to hear that the CYBILs Awards are closing down, though I am not completely surprised as round 1 judges had sooooo many books to read in a short time. I was a round 2 judge for a number of years reading many different genres. I loved the process and meeting other judges to pick our winners each year. Were you ever a CYBILs judge?

I've been watching Reacher and quite liking it, though it is violent! I've only read one of Lee Child's Reacher books (61 Hours; it is one of the more recent installments), so I don't know the plots, which makes it more interesting.

I've been doing a bunch of long catch-up chats with friends; it's always so wonderful to touch base. I wish we lived closer. I am also trying to convince my college classmates to go to our reunion next summer (yes, it's far away, but I am planting the seeds early). It will be our 40th, so it seems like a good one to attend.
