- The Swimmers by Julie Otsuka
- Flamer by Mike Curato
I got to play golf on Tuesday and had some good hits, which will keep me coming back. After golf, I went to dinner and spent the evening with a friend from high school whom I haven't seen in three years, so that was really fun. We also hung out on Wednesday. What I love is that no matter how long it's been, it feels like no time has passed. And one of my nieces arrived last night and is here for a few days; it's great to see them.
Banned Books Week starts today, and I commit to reading a couple of banned books. Unfortunately, it isn't tough to find a bunch of them these days. To find resources and lists of banned books that might interest you, visit Banned Book Week and the American Library Association. What will you read for Banned Books Week? I am going to read (well, actually, as you can see above, I read one of them yesterday):
I was pleased to read this morning that Mychal Threets is going to be the new host of Reading Rainbow (link to NPR article). I think his social media presence has brought positive attention to reading, libraries, and neurodiversity.
