- All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson
I got to play golf on Tuesday and had some good hits, which always makes it more fun. It was the last game of the season (we take a month break, apparently) so there was a dinner afterward with awards, a raffle, etc. I managed to place third in my flight (the lowest group) so won a free membership at the golf course for a year (I get a discount on playing ) and (in a total shock since I never win raffles), I won a round of golf for 4 people (over $400!) so my group gets to play for free on a regular day, not as part of our super discounted usual play. Wahooo!
My niece left on Tuesday as well, so it's been a bit quieter here; it was so wonderful to have them stay with me, and I know my parents enjoyed their visit as well.
I voted yesterday in our state-wide special election on redistricting. California is hoping to counter the efforts in Texas and other states. I do hate the idea of gerrymandering, and the California Constitution says we have to have a neutral committee do it, but these are special circumstances and a one-time deal.
Yesterday was a huge day for me. It was the All Dons Reunion, where my alumni association board puts on a reunion event for everyone who has ever graduated from our high school. And this year is our 150th birthday, so it was huge and so much work. Less work for me than others, but it was an amazing and tiring day with lots of moving parts (lowrider show, Wall of Fame induction, DJs, silent auction, merchandise, food trucks, kids activities, etc). And after that event ended at 4:00pm, I worked the reunion for the class of 2000. I took far too many photos to post, but I've included two above. No surprise, I am acting up in public.
