Sunday Salon: January 14, 2024

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

Well. It turns out my daughter does indeed have Covid, it took until 4 or 5 days of symptoms for her to test positive so I had huge amounts of exposure, but somehow have escaped it thus far. Maybe it's because I got my vaccine last Saturday, but I highly doubt it since that's not how it works. 🤣

I had a number of plans this week, all of which got cancelled due to other people's illnesses. Normally I would be sad, but this week was super full at work so it felt good to relax at home in the evenings.

My niece arrived on Friday mid-day and it is wonderful to see her! Friday night we went out to dinner with her and my parents. I do like seeing the joy spending time with their grandchildren brings to my parents. Saturday we hit the Farmer's Market (see a couple photos above of mushrooms and cauliflower) and breakfast (photo above of my mom, niece, and daughter) at an adorable bakery across the street from the market. Dinner out on Saturday was for my dad's upcoming 85th birthday.

Today we all got together for breakfast and a walk to the beach. All in all a wonderful weekend and it's not over.

I feel like Anne (My Head is Full of Books) by including a cartoon in my Sunday Salon (she's such a good influence). My family gave me a daily New Yorker cartoon calendar, which I am really enjoying.

Here is is the current state of my 2024 challenges
