Sunday Salon: February 6, 2022

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

This past week we have had really low tides so every day I went for a late afternoon beach walk. I love it when it's like this and we can check out the tide pools. Winter in southern California really is stunning.

I attended two virtual events this week, both of which were excellent and so very different from each other. The first was co-sponsored by a board of which I am president: The UC Santa Barbara History Associates. It was a musical performance by Zimbabwean Dr. Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa followed by a conversation with Dr. Mhoze Chikowero, a UCSB professor.

The second performance was a one-man show starring Matt Talbott, the younger brother of a good friend of mine from high school. It was about his growing up, race/racism, mysogyny, homophobia, and more.

Lupe and Reyes installed my Little Free Library yesterday! It's full of books and just waiting for someone to take (and love, I hope) a book. I have high hopes for this endeavor.

Here is my final showing of my 2022 challenges. The image is a link to my challenges page.
