Thankfully Reading Weekend 2021 kick off

The Thankfully Reading Weekend begins today and I have high hopes for my reading goals. Jenn suggested the questions below so I thought I'd use those for my sign up introduction.
  • How will/did you celebrate Thanksgiving? I am not a big Thanksgiving person as I don't love the inaccurate historical aspect to it and I am vegetarian, but in the US it's traditionally a time that families really make an effort to get together. As a kid, we always took in all the stray graduate students from my father's university department, but he is retired now so huge dinners are a thing of the past. In college, I was so far from home that my friends took me in for Thanksgiving (thank you! These are wonderful memories for me). As someone whose family is all overseas and don't celebrate the holiday, this year will be quiet with just me and my parents. However, I am jealous that my brother and his family are coming over from the UK and get to spend time with my daughter.
  • What’s in your TBR pile for the weekend? I have a few books that I'd like to tackle: Into the Sound by Cara Reinard (TLC Book Tour), This is My Brain in Love by I.W. Gregorio (YA), and State of Terror by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Louise Penny.

  • How much time do you think you’ll have for reading? In theory I have a ton of time for reading over the next few days, but I often get distracted with walks, reading other people's blogs, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. It would be great to finish 2 of my books though.
  • What book are you starting out with? I will start with Into the Sound by Cara Reinard since that one has a review deadline.
If you celebrate Thanksgiving, what are your Thanksgiving plans?
