24in48: Social Distancing Readathon

An excuse to stay home and read? Yes please. The folks at 24in48 are hosting a readathon  in the spirit of social distancing and I love it.

"This spontaneous Social Distancing Readathon will take place next weekend, (officially) starting 12 a.m. EST on March 21st. You know the drill by now; adjust your timezone as desired, and read with us on Saturday (21st) and Sunday (22nd) from wherever you are in the world.

It’s simple. No prizes. No hourly challenges. No requirements. Just a chance to reconnect with this amazing bookish community (online! no hand sanitizer required!), read some good books, and talk about them with other readers.

If sharing your journey online, they ask you use the hashtag #StayHome24in48."

I haven't figured out which books to read, but you can be sure that I will choose ones that I have been meaning to read for a while now. Here are some possibilities:

  • Tightrope by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn
  • Field Guide to the North American Teenager by Ben Philippe
  • Hour of the Assassin by Matthew Quirk
Will you join us?
