Sunday Salon: June 3, 2012

What's going on in my personal life:
Last weekend was fun at the Showstopper Dance Competition. There were amazing dancers, lots of glitz, and we had a great time. My daughter did a new jazz solo and did well, receiving a platinum rating (silver, gold, platinum are the possibilities). Here's a photo from the jazz number (she is a painting coming to life). She also did a contemporary solo that she has been doing all season and received a platinum in that as well.

The rest of the week seems to have passed by at breakneck speed with visits to my ex-husband's aunt who is visiting from Oman, helping at a dance class for adults with special needs (a really good experience for both me and my daughter), and the end-of-the-year school picnic.

This weekend is the Queen's Jubilee so we've got lots of thing taping on the TIVO! My sister-in-law is rowing on the Canadian canoe/boat as I write this so I am going to rush off and go watch the Flotilla on TV.

What's going on in my library at work:
Textbook return has begun and it is tiring. I've also been doing a ton of workshops on our new learning management system for our staff. But, only 4 more days of school!

What's going on with my reading:
Still a bit busy to finish much reading, but with summer only a few days away I have high hopes!
