Queen's Jubilee Flotilla

Now, before you start thinking that I am some crazed American Anglophile, I have strong ties to the UK. My parents immigrated from Britain and all my relatives still live there. Heck, I eat Marmite on toast every morning and still say Herb, not erg. :-)

Anyway, this weekend is the Jubilee celebration of Queen Elizabeth and one of the first celebrations was the Flotilla (1,000 boats parading down the Thames River). My sister-in-law was invited to row on the Canadian canoe so we watched eagerly to see if we could catch a glimpse of her and we did! Please excuse the quality of some of these photos as I took screen shots of BBCAmerica TV.

I couldn't resist a shot of Kate Middleton, she looked stunning. The photo below is Melissa, my sister-in-law, before the Flotilla.

And a good shot of Melissa (in the center with the green under her jacket) from the Guardian blog.

All in all it was really fun to watch the Flotilla! Did anyone else watch?
