Family and Life:
My daughter was invited to have a very small part in a dance teacher piece as part of the local dance teachers show so she was really excited. There were two performances of it this weekend, which she managed to do with a head cold and cough.

My mom is away for two weeks taking care of her parents in Britain (age 92 and 95!), where it is bitterly cold and snowing. Here it is in the 60s and sunny. At least she also gets to see my brother and his family as well as my cousins... I am jealous!

Work:
I loved using my TV and iPad wirelessly this week and I figured out how to stream photos of life at my school on the TV from the computer at my desk! The students and staff are enjoying watching them.

Books and Reading:
We watched a wonderful movie all about reading this weekend: The First Grader (rated PG-13). It is based on the true story of Kimani N'gan'ga Marunge, an 84 year old in Kenya who went to first grade to learn to read. He faced bureaucracy and tribal racism. Definitely worth watching.
