Summary (from the back of the book): About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him--and I didn't know how dominant that part might be--that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Review: I liked this book because it kept me wanting more and I might read the rest of the books in the series. Alice is my favorite character because she is nice and caring, but my least favorite character is Edward. He is too controlling.

I liked the story line and we even sat in the driveway a few times to hear what happened next. I thought it was a little weird that Bella is so in love with Edward. I would never give up everything I had to be a vampire.

Helen's comments: I read this book ages ago and enjoyed the first one. New Moon was also fun, but I got pretty weary of it through Eclipse and didn't enjoy Breaking Dawn (really? Hundreds of pages on the pregnancy?). So when my daughter said she wanted to read Twilight (she is going into 6th grade) I thought it would be a good one to listen to together on our road trip. Turns out I was right because it meant I was reminded of the details and she could discuss it and ask questions along the way.

I was reminded of how fun the book is, but also of how sickeningly besotted Bella is with Edward. And, I still think he is a controlling, slightly abusive, boyfriend. Jacob definitely gets my vote. I also didn't love the narrator's voice since I sometimes had difficulty telling who was speaking.
