Saturday Snapshot--June 25, 2011

This meme is hosted by Alyce from At Home With Books

To participate in Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online.

I spent the past week at a photography "camp" so I thought I'd post one of my photos. We had to shoot in manual mode all week, which was pretty tricky... lots of thinking involved!

I'll post more about the camp tomorrow in my Sunday Salon as it was a really amazing experience

I love it! You have the colors and lighting perfect.

Manual mode can be trying... but sometimes I have to use it to get good shots of my birds or night shots (which I am terrible at!).

I love the background in this shot. I hope we get to see some more photos from camp. That must have been such a fun and educational experience.

I don't know much about photography, but I think you nailed this one. I absolutely love the splash of colors! I'm not a big fan of flowers as photography subjects but this one is absolutely gorgeous!! Good job!!

Leslie--Manual really made me think about each photo!

Kaye--The background is someone's orange t-shirt. I'll definitely put more photos on my blog!

Gautami--Thank you! Yours is fun, too

Laurel-Rain--I really am going to try to stick to manual mode, it makes such a difference

Sherrie--I was going for vivid so am happy with it

Cathy--Thank you! It was a great day spent at a local botanical gardens

Darren--Thank you!

Kay--I am thinking of printing it out...

Aths--Flowers are easier since they don't move, for the most part.

That is a gorgeous shot! I was just telling my husband that I'm going to have to figure out how to take pictures the hard way some day. :)

Alyce--Thank you! I have been taught how to shoot manually before, but having to use it for hours a day for a week really solidified it for me
