Saturday Snapshot--May 21, 2011

This meme is hosted by Alyce from At Home With Books

To participate in Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online.

My brother and his family live in London now and recently spent a weekend in the town we lived in when I was five years old (near Ascot) so I've been thinking about that time in my life. I have only vague memories, many of which are associated with photographs.

This is one of my favorites from that year as my brother and I were obviously pleased with ourselves for creating an outdoor dining room made of snow. And kudos to my mother for giving us spoons to eat our creation!

Hi!
Playing in the snow is one of my favorite childhood memories. Seems we had lots more snow in those days. Have a great day!

Sherrie--We definitely got more snow to play in that year since I live in southern California now and get no snow!

That's adorable! And what a sensible mother you've got, everyone needs to eat some snow at some point :-)

Darling pic - and I love that your mother let you use her spoons :-)

Oh my, we've just gotten out of winter, but your photo is great, nonetheless.

Very cute photo. Were you really eating the snow with a spoon?

Helen's Book Blog said...

Mary and Lee--Yes, my mother let us eat snow with her spoons. Of course, she was only 25 at the time. But, you know, she is that kind of mom and would probably still let us now.

Irene--I think I particularly like snow photos since we don't get snow. When I lived in it, snow photos did not hold so much interest for me :-)

Awww! This is such a sweet picture. I love snow. I have tons of pictures of my brothers and I playing in the snow when we were little. We live in Chicago and it snows sooo much here. Thanks for sharing. By the way, your blog layout is very pretty =).

Bere--I cannot imagine dealing with as much snow and cold as you do in the Mid-West! Thank you for the compliment
