Book Beginnings: April 29, 2011

This meme is hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages
How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading. Include the title and the author so we know what you're reading. Then, if you feel so moved, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line, and let us know if you liked or did not like the sentence. The link-up will be here at A Few More Pages every Friday.

I have been meaning to read this mystery for AGES and haven't since it's a pdf on my computer. However, yesterday it occurred to me that I could put the pdf on my iPad. Ta-da!

"I'm at Ruth Price's Jazz Bakery in Culver City, California, and this time not as a sub for Monty Alexander or anyone else. This time is my own gig."

I have been pulled into this Hollywood mystery from the first page even though I was afraid it would be all about jazz, it isn't so far.

That's a nice quote! I'm glad you finally found an alternative to reading on the PC, which never works for me either.

Book Gatherer--yeah, the beginning isn't really a grabber, but I am enjoying the book so far

Aths--I am so happy that I moved my books that are pdfs to my iPad so that I can read them on the go!

Mostraum--I messed up and couldn't get the photo on the post until I got home. The book is Fade to Blue by Bill Moody
