Saturday Snapshot--February 12, 2011

This meme is hosted by Alyce from At Home With Books

To participate in Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online.

Monday is Valentine's Day. Big Whoop. It's never been a holiday that I've cared all that much about. But, my 10 year old has to make valentines for each student in her class each year. She doesn't like to just buy something, but is instead creative. So this year she used seaglass, a princess tree flower, and moss on a garden pathway to take a photo. She made cards with this photo on them and a message to each student inside. I think it's pretty cool!

What a great idea! I like the violet-blue color too; it's a nice change from pink.

Oh, that IS cool...and so creative! Love that, and I'll bet the recipients will enjoy it more than a Hallmark card.

Wow, that is so thoughtful. We picked up Shrek valentine cards at Target. I feel so inadequate now lol j/k, but that was so creative :)

Wow, I wish I was that creative when I was young - it's adorable! And the colors are beautiful. :)

Trish--She thought the purple was a nice change, too, especially since she has to give it to boys as well as girls

K and JL--Thank you!

Laurel-Rain--Each year she gets good feedback, which is nice

Julia--Shrek is one of our favorites! Awesome choice

Great picture! I love the color contrast. Homemade valentines are always so much more fun to give!

Bermuda--I really try to encourage the arts beyond just her dancing and she is very receptive

Sherrie--I think it's always scary to give something you've created yourself so I hope they go over well

Bev--I loved your collection of favorites in your photo

She is a budding artist! Most 10 year olds just want the same old cards from the store.
