An Award: The Stylish Blogger

Thank you to Anne at My Head is Full of Books for bestowing upon me the Stylish Blogger Award! I have recently started following her blog and am so glad that I am. She is also a high school librarian like me and loves YA lit.

Here's how this award works:
  1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
  2. Share 7 things about yourself
  3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
  4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award
Seven things about me... (I am going to steal some of the ideas from Anne)
  1. I attended Connecticut College (the only one-humped camels in the country), a small liberal arts college in New London, CT.
  2. I am really glad that I've made the switch to being a Teacher Librarian. While I loved being a classroom teacher, I was ready for a change and feel like this position is right for now: reading, blogging, technology, working with students (but no grading or real discipline issues)
  3. I recently started a non-profit called Turn the Page Uganda, which is working to get books into the hands of students and teachers in northern Uganda. Please visit our website and see what we're about (if you're so moved, we have a donate button....)
  4. I am already doing better this year at commenting on more blogs and not just being a lurker!
  5. I am a vegetarian and have been for over 20 years
  6. I've recently discovered a love of YA dystopian fiction (think Matched, Candor, Uglies)
  7. Like Anne, I am in two book groups, both of which are all-women. One group reads fiction and the other non-fiction so they are a great combination
To whom shall I pass on this award.... The rules are to list 15 blogs that are new to me so hear are a few I've discovered recently (I know, it's not 15)
  • My Head is Full of Books (I know, she gave it to me, but I'm counting her anyway)
  • A Few More Pages (not super new to me, but I've recently started doing her Book Beginnings meme)
  • At Home with Books is also certainly not new to me, but I am loving her new meme Saturday Snapshot
  • Reading Vacation--this blogger is young and is doing such a wonderful job I just had to include her
  • Ten Cent Notes

Hey Helen,

Thank you for including Reading Vacation on your list.

Dystopian books are great, aren't they?

Looks like we are both working on our commenting. = )

Alyce and Katy--you're welcome

Alexia--Don't be impressed. I just looked at meat one day and realized I didn't really like it much. :-)
