Kindle books for my vacation

As I've mentioned over the past week or so, I am leaving for Oman on Friday. We are traveling light with only carry-on luggage to make the trip easier. So, that means I can't carry my usual pile of books with me. Poor me. But, I have a Kindle so I got my act together yesterday and bought a few Kindle books to keep me amused.

My only concern is what to do if the Kindle battery dies on me. Yes, I understand the concept of plugging it in and recharging it. However, Oman is on different voltage from the US.
Does anyone know if the Kindle is dual-voltage?

Here are the books I am bringing with me on the trip in the order I plan on reading them. My guess is I'll only get to 2 of them, but you just never know. I have other books on the Kindle, but they have to wait until after January 1 since they count toward 2011 challenges.

The Secret Keeper by Mitali Perkins

Matched by Allison Condie

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's by John Elder Robison

About the dual-voltage thing, usually adaptors are made to accept any voltage between 100 and 230. I'm guessing Oman is at 220? If you look at the charger, somewhere there will be a sticker in which input voltage range is written - it's usually on the underside. You should be able to know from that.

I'm also taking nook books with me on my vacation. I don't want to feel upset with myself for carrying 10 books and reading none.

You have chosen some wonderful books - I have Secret Keeper here, but may get to it only next year. Really want to read the HeLa book too! Enjoy them and your vacation! Have a wonderful time!

Aths--I the Kindle is dual voltage if what I read on the web is correct, but I'll also check the charger. What are you taking on your Nook? Have a great time

Hi Helen,
I have a Kindle, and I've used it in the US, France and India. It works fine, you just need to carry an adapter along, or you can buy one in airports.
Make sure it comes with a stabilizer for any voltage fluctuations (99% of adapters will have thi
The best way to charge is to use your laptop ;) That way, you are sure to not harm it!

Deepali--Thanks for the information. I've got an adapter so I think I'm good to go. I am not taking any "real" books with me so let's hope the Kindle holds out
