Book Beginnings

This meme is hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages

I am going on a trip to Las Vegas tomorrow. It's such an odd place for me to go since I am someone who hates cigarette smoke, being indoors all the time, and am not really into gambling. However, my daughter and I are attending PULSE, a dance convention where all the teachers are choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance! So excited!

Anyway, I don't know how much time I'll have to read, but here's what I am taking...

Today I am five. I was four last night going to sleep in Wardrobe, but when I wake up in Bed in the dark I'm changed to five, abracadabra. Before that I was three, then two, then one, then zero. "Was I minus numbers?"

I have seen so much about this book around the blogsophere, but I have been very careful not to read the reviews too carefully so that nothing gets ruined for me. I wanted to know if bloggers like the book, but not much about the book itself. I feel like this first paragraph really sets the voice of the book and I look forward to reading it.

You might end up staying in your hotel room to read Room once you get into it. Fantastic book. That first line is so innocent, yet for me showed that Jack is wise beyond his young age.

Enjoy your visit to Vegas.

Room is a book I read in about one sitting (and utterly adored it!). Happy airplane reading!

Enjoy ROOM Helen and Vegas! I prefer the day life to the night life of Vegas. I like to explore the amazing hotels and the fun shops - oh and the dolphin gardens too but I can not recall which hotel they are in.

Suzanne--You were right; I hid in the hotel room for an hour and a half to finish the book!

Carrie--Unfortunately I didn't manage any airplane reading, but you'll see in my review that I did major hotel-room reading!

Sheila--Day life in Vegas is definitely better than night life. Too bad I was inside the convention center the whole time
