Black Friday: book shopping

Oh yeah, it's Black Friday and much of the US was out shopping. I braved outlet stores about 45 minutes south of Santa Barbara and managed to do no Holiday shopping. I did, however, find a great fleece for me and one for my daughter from the Columbia outlet (how could I pass up cozy fleeces reduced from $90 to $15?!)

But, the best part of the day was shopping at Chaucer's, our amazing local book store, with money from my PTSA. I got to buy $500 worth of books! Actually, I managed to get to just over $494.00. Not bad! I get so excited buying books for my school library knowing that I've bought books that students will be excited to read.

Of course, I managed to buy two books for myself as well:

And, I bought books and another little surprise for two of my Secret Santa/Holiday Swap people. I hope they like what I got them!

We were lucky enough to go to Chaucer's this past year, and we spent more money on books than we ever have ever in a bookstore! What a wonderful place, and how lucky you are to live by it!
