I went book shopping!

OK. I was doing so well at not buying books this year. I do work in a library for goodness sakes and I have been reading books that stare me in the face every day. I even went through the fiction section the other day, while AP testing was going on, and wrote down all the books I want to read. Talk about adding to my TBR list!

Then I had free time on my own (a rare occurrence) so I stopped by Chaucer's Bookstore. And, I happened to have part of my recommended by fellow bloggers list with me. My wallet didn't stand a chance. Here's what I bought. And, in keeping with the Prepare to Be Shocked challenge, I have to list the prices.

Born Under a Million Shadows by Andrea Busfield ($14.00)
Columbine by Dave Cullen ($15.99)
Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok ($25.95)
Lotus Eaters by Tatjana Soli ($24.95)
Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda ($23.99)

I'd love any feedback you have on any of these!

I loved Secret Daughter. I thought it was a fantastic story. I haven't read the others but I've heard really good things about Girl in Translation and Columbine.

I hope you enjoy your purchases!

I have no feedback but I thought it was interesting that so many of the covers had the back of people on them!

I can absolutely understand how you couldn't resist any of these...I would like to read them too. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who works in a library and makes a list of the ones that I want to read too!!!

Christina-Thanks for the affirmation of Secret Daughter!

Beth--That is strange about the covers! I've noticed that there are definite trends in cover styles (think: Twilight)

Staci--I am a total list maker and having all those great books around me I tend to forget what I want to read so I've got to write them down as I see them or they disappear onto the shelves and I forget all about them

Columbine was amazing. So well written. One of those books that are hard to put down.

I have only read Columbine and it is a worthwhile read. It was not perfect but it was still heart-wrenching. Too bad I didn't start blogging when I read it so no review from me...

I have Secret Daughter and Girl in Translation in my TBR list!

I haven't read any of these you listed, so I'll watch for your reviews and thoughts on each of them -- and probably add some to my TBR list. If you want to see my book shopping today, look here:

Bonnie--I saw your garage sale shopping but forgot to comment. I'll go over now and take a better look. It's always so satisfying to get great books on the cheap!
