- Nothing finished. I am working on Partitia by Barbara Kingsolver and There's Always This Year by Hanif Abdurraqib
Life update: Two college friends visited this week, and it was wonderful to see them! I feel joy when I am with them, so it was a good thing in my week (and they brought me homegrown tomatoes all the way from Virginia!). And a shout-out to Peggy, who reads my blog! We had a great conversation about book bloggers that she has "met" through my blog. 🤣
With the darker nights, I am in the mood for chili and other warm dinners. So, chili and cornbread are on the menu for this week. What do you make for winter dinners?
Dance update: I started a new Wednesday dance "progressive" for the month: Bachata. Not one of my favorite dances, but the group choreography and performance are always a good time, and we're dancing to Michael Jackson's "Beat It," so that makes it super fun. Saturday was our local Medal Ball, where our studio eats, dances, and gives out awards to those who have leveled up in their dance. I haven't attended before (even though I've leveled up 4 levels), so it was fun to have hours of dancing and socializing.
Golf update: Nothing. I was supposed to play on Halloween, but it rained. And we're in between seasons. I'm glad it's starting up again this coming week.
Boards update: I had an alumni executive board meeting. Our big topic? How to get a phone for calls and texts (and nothing else) at the lowest possible price for the phone and the monthly service. I think we're going to give Zoom phone a try.
