I played a stellar round of golf two Tuesdays ago. I figured it wouldn't hold, but boy, did it feel good. This past Tuesday, I also played well (long may it last!), and I played again yesterday morning and did okay. Look at me wearing white after Labor Day on the golf course (that's for all the East Coasters). This week's round was the last of the season, so we had a dinner and raffle. All the money raised goes to the local high schools' girls' golf teams. This season we raised over $4,000 (we do this twice a year).

We've had a heat wave the past two weeks with temperatures in the high 80s and up to 97 one day. This is so unusual for us. No fun!

Poppy is a joy. She is chewing/biting less (her little teeth are falling out; I've found 4 so far in my living room). She loves her walks and interacting with other dogs. She's also discovered my dirty socks. Lovely.

I've been enjoying a number of shows: I finished Reacher, have one more episode of the latest Ted Lasso (AppleTV), and have started the newest British Bake Off (Netflix) and Amazing Race (CBS online) seasons. I also watched the movie Pressure (Amazon Prime), which I found interesting. It's set during World War II and focuses on the weather planning for D-Day, so it highlights the work of the meteorologists.

This past week was Banned Books Week (link to my post) and Nobel Week, both of which I love. I don't know what it is about honoring someone's life's work, but it gets me every time. And the Peace Prize winner is a fantastic choice. I love that they are honoring work for humanitarian justice.
