Last Tuesday night, I flew to Ithaca, New York, to spend the week with my daughter. Ithaca is isolated, but such a beautiful place. We've been working, hanging out, baking, and I attended an event for the launch of her first book (The Unsettler)! I am so proud of her. And next month, her dad is coming out to attend a book launch for her second book (Triangulating Édouard Glissant, Jacques Derrida, and Albert Memmi)!
One of my nieces visited this week, and I got to see them for a day/night when I returned from vacation. We took a dance class together, which was super fun! I also took my puppy to a new vet (well, old vet for me, new for her), which felt good. I love this vet!
I also had a crazy experience this week when I met with a medium (never done that before and wasn't really sure what I thought about the concept). She does not charge money and says not to tell her information along the way. This made me feel like if she got anything right, it was more real. Let me tell you, it was intense and (mostly) spot on! I found it quite emotional.
And, finally, I got a tattoo. This one took three and a half hours. It is the four flowers that represent who I am: Welsh daffodil, California poppy, English rose, and Scottish thistle. I love it.
