Sunday Salon: June 21, 2026

I now know which puppy is mine! This "portrait" was taken of her this week. The colored parts will get darker and darker reddish brown over the next 18 months. I really felt pressured about the name, though hearing that she is sweet and gentle did get rid of some that were on my list. And, in the end, I chose the first name I thought of: Poppy (the California state flower, one of my favorites). I am so excited to meet her on June 27 as she transitions from the breeder to the trainer.

I spent the first couple of days this week hanging out with my brother and niece--mostly dinners and soccer-watching. And, as always, there was golf and dance for me, though I tweaked one of my knees, so I took it a bit easier this week.

So many fun games to watch! Spain and Cape Verde in a tie? Democratic Republic of Congo and Portugal in a tie? Amazing! I love it when smaller nations do well against the giants of the game.
