It's been a good week with not much reading. I haven't been overly busy, but have hung out with friends a bunch doing fun stuff (golf, etc), which is a good thing. I took a glass-blowing workshop. The place was more of a craft-oriented space than a glass-blowing studio, so we used blow torches to heat the glass. The idea was to make ornaments, but most of my attempts did not quite make it to the desired round shape. The photo above is one that was pretty successful. Instead, they are all versions of "that didn't quite work." But I had a really good time, and now I've got a bunch of pretty glass ornaments. I think I'll hang them, not on my tree, but in some sort of decorative fashion.

I also made pickles. That is so not like me, but I did it with a friend using their grandmother's recipe and it was really fun.

Last night I went to the final symphony concert: Mahler's Resurrection. Eh. It was well done, but Mahler isn't my favorite (which I didn't know until I sat through the concert).
