Oh, I have been struggling to get back into reading after 2 weeks of the Olympics. I have read the first few pages of about 4 books and then put them back on my TBR shelves. Luckily, I decided to try the book above, and I was hooked!

I had a whole paragraph about my week and deleted it with the news of the US/Israel attack on Iran and Iran's response. WTF?! Why are we attacking Iran? Epstein diversion? Regime change (none of our business)? Nuclear weapons fears (watch this clip from Face the Nation that aired the day before the attack, in which the Omani negotiator discusses all the concessions Iran had already agreed to do)? My daughter called me at 1:30am Saturday asking if I had heard if our family in the UAE and Oman are ok. So, lots of texts and WhatsApp messaging later between me, her, my ex-husband, my family, his family, and my colleagues in the region, and so far everyone is ok, even though missiles are hitting nearby in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Jordan. By 10:00am my dad and I were at a protest. I know protests don't really solve anything, but it sure does feel good to be surrounded by others who are like-minded.

Can you imagine the US reaction if another country attacked us, killed our top leadership, and then suggested we rebel against our government?! That's what we just did. It's embarrassing, uncalled for, and just wrong.
