Sunday Salon: August 24, 2025

Last Sunday was my (postponed) 60th birthday party, which was really wonderful: 60 friends at the beach, Mexican food catering, and cake. My brother (above), 2 of his kids, my parents, and people from my childhood, high school, teaching, and golf were all there. One friend's husband does acupuncture so they gave me a free session as a gift. Have you ever had acupuncture? I haven't but am looking forward to trying it.

Monday and Tuesday were golf (we decorated our cart for one of the women's birthdays and wore birthday hats). My family left on Tuesday, so it feels quiet now around the house.

Friday was a couple of dance classes; in my private lesson, we're working on my routine for a performance that is coming up. It's nice to have choreography as a change from just focusing on steps and styling details. I also tested up a level for another dance. In the evening, friends and I went to dinner and had a nice catch up.

I had an electrician come this week to look at my car charger (it's running hot) and my bathroom fan. I joked that I have a ghost since the fan turns on and off by itself. Things are starting to ramp up for my two nonprofits as the school year begins; I do love the work, but it makes my life so much busier.
