Sunday Salon: April 14, 2024

The Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz.

On Sunday I met with my book group and on Monday with my in-person book group. For this coming month they both chose The Plot 😀

I watched a very good mini series: Bates vs the Post Office (on PBS). It's a fascinating story that will make you angry at government institutions. I highly recommend it. I also watched Priscilla Queen of the Desert and liked it just as much as I did decades ago when it first came out. The soundtrack is so fantastic! Obviously, I haven't been reading this week because there is a third movie I watched: The Beautiful Game. It wasn't a great movie, but it's heart warming and interesting. It's about the Homeless World Cup (for football/soccer) which is a real thing and does amazing work.

Wednesday I addressed the UCSB History department faculty meeting to ask for donations to our graduate student fellowships then went on a walk with a friend. Friday I got a hair cut (finally!) and hung out with my post-surgery dad. He is doing so well, only using a ski poles/walking sticks and doing stairs like a champion one week after surgery.

Saturday I did my usual routine of the farmer's market and though we intended to do a beach walk, it was raining so I hung out with a couple friends in the morning, spent more time with my dad, and spent the afternoon with a couple of friends who were in town for the day.

Here is is the current state of my 2024 challenges
