Sunday Salon: October 29, 2023

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

  • Nothing. Again.

I have been MIA from the Sunday Salon and blogging for a few weeks. I don't have a good excuse except that the new job is sooooo busy! I know it will calm down, especially when I know more about the platform and do a better job of scheduling trainings. Message to self: remember to schedule breaks during the day. And don't work until 10:00pm each day. I have been chatting often on the phone with a friend who lives far away and that has been a great distraction from work.

Saturday I worked a couple reunions for my old high school, which was fun. I love seeing old friends get together and laugh even when I don't know them.

I went for a long walk with a friend yesterday (it's called self-care and I've been missing this for the past month or so). Later today I am seeing my parents since it's their 60th wedding anniversary. Tuesday I am headed to New York to visit my daughter. I am getting back more work/life balance, which is good.

I miss reading. I haven't finished a book in weeks. I am reading The Orphan Master's Son which I am enjoying, but I am only about a quarter of the way through.

Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
