Sunday Salon: June 4, 2023

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

Last Sunday was my niece's graduation from Wesleyan University. It was so nice to have the family together to celebrate her. After the ceremony my daughter and I drove the 5 hours back to Ithaca. Lots of driving in only a couple days led to naps as soon as we got back.

We had a quiet Memorial Day just hanging out, going for a walk, reading, etc. In fact the whole week was quiet, relaxing, and really nice. We discovered beautiful walking paths all over Ithaca and did them in the mornings before it got too hot (consistently up to 90 degrees. I am NOT good in the heat, especially with an upstairs apartment in an old house with no AC). We also started packing up her apartment since she is moving to a new (read: better) place for next year.

Well, Ted Lasso is over and I wish there was more. There is a rumor of a 4th season/spin off so we'll see what happens with that. My daughter and I started rewatching The Mindy Project, which is just as fun the second time around.

Today I am flying home so hope I do not have a repeat of flight issues like I did coming here. 🤣

This image is the books I hoped to read in May. I read and liked all of these except one, so that's not bad. I also read a couple extras.

This image is the books I plan to read in June. Actually, I cheated and already read two of these and I have added an additional one. But, the image is close enough.

Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
