Sunday Salon: April 9, 2023

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

The rest of our Arizona vacation consisted of morning walks to coffee shops, sitting in the sun working and reading, and going out to delicious Mexican food for dinner. I visited a former teaching colleague whom I hadn't seen in 8 years; it was great to catch up and see him and his wife, both of whom are such good and interesting people. The craziest thing we saw (numerous times) was the world’s first autonomous ride-hailing service called Waymo. There is no driver! Have you seen this before? Apparently it's also in San Francisco. Crazy!

My daughter's best friend (hi Anjali!) is also in the greater Phoenix area so we fit in a lunch and a dinner with her and her partner. They are such fantastic young people and I know it did my daughter the world of good to spend time with them. And I loved it too!

My mom is out of town so I had my dad over for dinner Friday night, which was nice. I walked with a friend yesterday and had a good catch up and I finally got my daughter to try watching Schitt's Creek and she is hooked! So, we've been watching it and FaceTiming with one another so we can comment as it goes along. It's such a great show.

I got far less reading done this week, but I am part way into the historical novel Circus Train, have you read this yet?

Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
