Sunday Salon: March 5, 2023

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

Last Sunday I hosted a talk by the UCSB History Associates on abortion legislation history which went really well. We held it at our local library; it's so great to partner with them! Sunday night I had a friend over for dinner, which was fun and relaxing.

Monday I began my second job and it seems there will be a slow and steady introduction to the company, the other employees, and the work they do. I like that approach and everyone is super nice. On Tuesday I attended a virtual author talk with Sedeqa Johnson, author of House of Eve, which I will start this coming week for a TLC Review. She was really interesting and I liked hearing about her writing process.

Yesterday I went for a lovely walk with a friend at a local lake; it's so nice to be out in nature. Later today my longest-time friend (56 years!) is in town so we'll hang out for a bit and that's always a good thing.

I managed to dip into my March stack of books in February and feel like I'm on a really great streak of awesome reading. Such a great feeling. 😀💜

Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
