No books read this week due to my move

I moved into my new condo on Wednesday; what an exhausting and exciting week! The movers were AMAZING and, true to my personality, I had everything unpacked by Friday. 🤣 I've met a few of the neighbors and they all see really friendly. It's a quiet little cul-de-sac, which I appreciate. I do still have a number of projects waiting to happen:
  • Bookshelves--my bookshelves won't be built until the end of September so my books (except my TBR books) are in boxes in the garage. My TBR books are on the floor in my living room.
  • Kitchen pull-out shelves--I am of an age where I do not want to get down on the floor to reach way back in lower level cabinets so in a couple weeks I'll have pull outs installed in the lower cabinets.
  • Closets--California Closets comes at the end of October so for now I have my garage storage piled haphazardly and my office has boxes in it
  • Blinds--the previous owner installed decent blinds to sell the place, but they don't have cords to raise and lower them and I can't reach them when they are up (tall windows) and he bought standard-sized sets so they don't go all the way down. My new ones are going in mid-September
  • Showers--these were installed for people who are about 6'5" and I am 5'4" so... I have a plumber coming Tuesday to see about fixing that.

Now that I am living alone and working at home, I am making an effort to see friends more often. That started with walks this weekend, the first of which was with a woman who also left the school district so we walked on the first day of school, while school was in session! That felt crazy and good. I am also signed up at a new gym and am finding good walking routes.

I applied to be a CYBILS judge so we'll see what happens with that. Did any of you apply? It's such a fun experience!
