Sunday Salon: April 3, 2022

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

Ok, it's the last of my east coast trip report. I drove over 1,700 miles (28+ hours of driving) in 2 weeks.

  • If it's Monday, it must be Appomattox. I took most of the day off to hang out with a friend from high school. We checked out the historical sites in Appomattox (site of a major southern surrender to the north in the Civil War for those of you who live outside the US) and had lunch in a local indie bookstore.

  • In the late afternoon I drove 2.5 hours to Lanexa, Virginia for my final stop to stay with college friends. The bonus was that a third friend came over for dinner from Williamsburg!
  • Tuesday I worked at my friend's house, went for a walk through their forested property and sat by the lake. We relaxed afterward in their jacuzzi, which has a fabulous view (including a family of deer and an Osprey flying overhead). Early evening, I headed to the airport to return my rental car and spend the night for my early Wednesday flight.
I HIGHLY recommend a 2-week trip to visit long-time friends (of course, it helps when you can work remotely during the trip). I am reinvigorated and feel filled with love.

Satruday my blog reached a milestone passing 1.5 million views. That seems crazy somehow. I know there are blogs with way more, but I don't care because it isn't a competition. That just seems like such a big number and it made me smile.

The above photo is of the books I hoped to read in March. I did well, reading 4 of the 5 and reading 5 other books that weren't on my stack.

This image is the books I hope to read in April. It is more YA than I would usually choose for one month, but that seems to be my mood today as I chose the books.

Here is is the current state of my 2022 challenges. The image is a link to my challenges page.
