Sunday Salon: October 3, 2021

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

What a week! The unvaccinated teachers in our school district (about 50) threatened a sick/walk out on Wednesday (to protest the requirement by our school District that all staff has to be vaccinated) so it was going to be all-hands on deck for subbing. Luckily they didn't go through with it and I had a really good day at work instead of subbing! However, I think many of them are not going to get vaccinated and there is a possibility that I will be forced to become a long-term sub. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen! Our Governor, Gavin Newsom, just announced that all California school staff have to be vaccinated by the next school year so maybe that will take some pressure of the individual school districts.

I am currently juggling 4 TV shows: Ted Lasso (Apple TV+), The Morning Show (Apple TV+), the Chair (Netflix), and Call the Midwife (Netflix). All very good except The Chair, which I finished this weekend, was just ok.

I went to an online CAbi party Thursday night (clothing) and then Friday evening went to the hostess' house to try on clothes. That's a fun time because a friend that I've known since I was little and her sister were also there so we got to catch up, pass judgment on outfits, and we are all willing to try on the outrageous items and have a good laugh.

This image is of the books I planned to read in September. I did not read Things We Lost to the Water or Becoming a Globally Competent Teacher (yet). However, I did read 7 books that weren't in the stack.

This image is the books I hope to read in October. Notice there are lots of mystery/thrillers for the RIP Challenge, which ends on the 31st.

Here's my challenge update. The image is a link to my challenge page.
