Sunday Salon: May 30, 2021

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.

So, instead of my UK trip I am trying to decide what to do. Nothing I think of is really luring me in, but I think that's because I am still in school so can't quite picture going on a short vacation. What are you all doing for your I'm-coming-out-of-a-pandemic vacations?

Friday was my mom's birthday so we did a delicious Indian take-away, Levain bakery cookies for dessert, and my daughter and I took her clothes shopping on Saturday; the three generation outing was fun.

I am definitely reading less now that my daughter is home and DNF-ing a book this week didn't help. I just didn't care about the characters so gave up half way through.
I learned this week that my union's executive board put my name in for the state's WHO (We Honor Ours) Award so that feels really good. There's a banquet/awards ceremony in September.

This image is the one I posted at the beginning of May and they are the books I hoped to read during this month. I did well, reading all of them plus 3 other novels and a short book of poetry.

As I said last Sunday, I am participating in the 20 (15) books of Summer and this is my stack for June. The books that are standing up are for work and I'll tackle them throughout the summer. I think I might be taking on too much for June.
